Phi Beta Sigma & Zeta Phi Beta Unite for “Real Talk” Against Project 2025 at CBC Week

At the 45th Annual Legislative Conference of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC Week 2025), Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. came together to present Real Talk: The Community-Based Counter-Offensive to Project 2025. The event focused on rallying grassroots power to counter threats to civil rights, social progress, and community sovereignty.

The forum featured an influential roster of speakers and leaders, including Phi Beta Sigma’s International President, lawmakers, and state officials — all brought together under one mission: organize, defend, and uplift marginalized communities.

Panels addressed the stakes of Project 2025 — a proposed agenda that many see as rolling back protections in education, voting rights, healthcare, and civil justice. Speakers outlined how communities can mobilize from the ground up, strengthening local coalitions and activating networks to resist regressive policies.

One major highlight was the emphasis on the role of Divine Nine organizations — not just as cultural institutions, but as civic actors with deep ties in neighborhoods. The forum underscored how sororities and fraternities can leverage their organizational infrastructure to lead voter education, policy awareness campaigns, and community defense efforts.

By uniting voices from Capitol Hill to state legislatures, Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta made a powerful statement: that collective resistance and community agency are essential for preserving progress in Black America. Their collaboration at CBC Week reaffirmed that the work of advocacy, education, and protection is ongoing, especially in times of political uncertainty.
