Ken Agyapong Jr.: From Entrepreneur to Festival Visionary & Phi Beta Sigma Brother
Share
Ken Agyapong Jr. is making waves across culture, business, and community. As a Ghanaian-American entrepreneur and the CFO and Co-Creator of AfroFuture Festival, his work embodies the intersection of vision and impact. He is also a proud brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Agyapong pledged Sigma in Spring 2011 through the Omicron Alpha Chapter at Utica College (now Utica University). His initiation into brotherhood became more than symbolic — it helped anchor his future in leadership, discipline, and collective uplift.
During college, Agyapong was drawn to Sigma’s principles of service, scholarship, and brotherhood. He credits early fraternity brothers with mentorship, direction, and showing him how purpose and network could power success.
His entrepreneurial journey is steeped in cultural movement. After graduating, he pursued roles in media and operations before turning full attention to AfroFuture — a festival platform designed to elevate diaspora creatives, storytelling, and collaboration across continents.
AfroFuture is more than music and art. It’s a bridge between Africa and the global Black community, a stage for emerging voices, and a platform for economic opportunity. Under Agyapong’s leadership, the festival has grown in size, reach, and ambition.
As AfroFuture expands — now entering new cities and attracting global talent — Agyapong continues to ground his vision in legacy and service. His work echoes the values instilled by Sigma: investing in people, building community, and creating lasting infrastructure for Black cultural power.
Through his role in culture, entrepreneurship, and fraternity, Ken Agyapong Jr. shows how modern Black leadership can straddle worlds — turning dreams into platforms and platforms into movements.
