Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. brings together a founding story at Howard University, a commitment to learning, and a responsibility to serve. Its cardinal principles remain the starting point for understanding what Omega stands for—and why its bonds reach well beyond the college years.

The beginning

Omega Psi Phi began in Howard University’s Science Building, later named Thirkield Hall. Three undergraduates founded the fraternity with their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.

The fraternity’s name comes from a Greek phrase expressing the essential place of friendship in the soul. That idea became its motto, giving friendship a central place in Omega’s identity.

Achievement Week
Observed each November, it recognizes contributions to community uplift and includes a high school essay contest.

Academic excellence, graduate-chapter financial assistance, STEM initiatives, and Talent Hunt help support young people’s potential.
Health & wellbeing
Health initiatives include the Charles R. Drew Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.
Mentoring & social action
Fatherhood and mentoring, literacy efforts, voter registration, and other local service activities connect brothers to community needs.

Which ring fits the milestone?
The Life Member Ring honors Life Member status. The Official Series offers a bold 34mm face, while the Alumni Ring has a smaller 28mm face and a different personalization format. Compare the live product options before ordering.
Can I personalize an Omega ring?
Yes, on the selected designs. Official Series rings offer inside engraving; Alumni rings offer an exterior side plate; Life Member rings have their own personalization options. Follow the instructions on the specific product page.
How far ahead should I order?
The featured ring pages generally list 20–25 days for production before shipping. Personalization can add time. For a gift or chapter milestone, check the current production details and allow for shipping as well.
