Gabby Thomas: Olympic Trailblazer & Honorary Alpha Kappa Alpha Soror

Gabby Thomas has earned her place among the world’s elite sprinters — and now she steps into the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as an Honorary Member.

Thomas holds multiple Olympic medals, including golds in the 200 m and 4×100 m relay at the 2024 Paris Games. Her personal best of 21.60 seconds in the 200 m puts her among the fastest women in history. She is also the first Ivy League graduate to win an Olympic track & field medal. (source inspiration)

Academically, Thomas graduated from Harvard University with a degree in neurobiology & global health, then earned a master’s in epidemiology. Off the track, she uses her platform to advocate for women of color in STEM, public health equity, and mentorship. (source inspiration)

Her honorary induction into AKA, recognized during the sorority’s 2025 Leadership Seminar, affirms her alignment with the organization’s pillars of scholarship, service and sisterhood. As the sorority described it: the highest honor for women whose achievements and service uplift communities. (source inspiration)

With Ivy-League credentials, world-class athletic performance, and a mission rooted in community impact, Gabby Thomas’ journey now includes the legacy of one of the most historic Black Greek sororities. Her story reminds us: excellence, purpose and service can rise together.
