David Turner Elected 37th International President of Phi Beta Sigma

The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma have selected David Turner as the fraternity’s 37th International President, during the 2025 Conclave in Tampa, Florida.

Turner, who pledged in Spring 1991 at the Epsilon Xi Chapter (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), comes into the role with deep experience and a results-oriented track record within Sigma leadership.

Over his career in the fraternity, Turner has held notable positions including International 1st Vice President, Great Lakes Regional Director, International Auditor, and Chair of the PBS Impact Foundation. He’s credited with advancing membership growth, strengthening chapter operations, and launching initiatives to support local Sigma communities.

Among his achievements:

  • Growing active collegiate chapters and increasing financial membership in the Great Lakes region
  • Implementing “Legacy Societies” and leveraging corporate partnerships to benefit chapters
  • Securing grants and strategic licensing agreements to empower chapters with resources and tools
  • Strengthening financial oversight and compliance during his time as International Auditor

Outside the fraternity, Turner brings executive experience in finance, property management, and development. These skills align with his vision of leading Sigma into a future focused on sustainability, innovation, and broader community impact.

As he steps into leadership, Turner has pledged to emphasize civic advocacy, membership support, operational excellence, and mission-driven growth. With his guidance, Phi Beta Sigma is poised for renewed energy in service and brotherhood.
